Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2025-04-15
WorldPrice is a small editorial product. We try to collect as little personal data as possible and we explain everything we do collect on this page.
What we collect
WorldPrice runs anonymous, cookieless analytics through Vercel. Vercel Analytics records the pages you visit, your country, the device class (mobile/desktop), and the referring site. It does not set cookies, does not fingerprint your browser, and we cannot identify individual visitors from it.
We do not require an account to read WorldPrice. We do not collect your email address, name, phone number, or any other identifier unless you voluntarily contact us, and even then we only retain what you sent us.
If we ever launch a newsletter, sign-up will be explicit (a separate form with a clear opt-in) and unsubscribe will be one click. We will never pre-check that box.
Why we collect it
Aggregate analytics tell us which pages people actually read so we know where to invest editorial time. That is the only product purpose.
We do not run third-party advertising networks today. If we eventually place a Google AdSense unit it will be disclosed clearly and you can block it with any standard ad-blocker without breaking the site.
Third parties
Vercel — hosts the site and runs analytics. Vercel may process your IP address transiently to serve the page; it is not stored against your identity.
Supabase — stores the price dataset. It does not store any reader data because we do not have reader accounts.
Unsplash — image CDN for hero photos. Unsplash sees the image request from your browser. It does not receive any data we collect.
exchangerate-api.com — server-to-server FX rate refresh. Your browser never talks to this service directly.
We do not sell, rent, or trade any data with anyone.
Your rights
Because we do not maintain reader accounts, there is usually nothing to access, export, or delete. If you have ever emailed us we will, on request, delete that thread and any contact info attached to it.
Under GDPR, UK GDPR and similar regimes, you have the right to access, correct, restrict, or delete personal data we hold about you, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Email us first — we will resolve it within 30 days.
Korean PIPA notice
For Korean readers: under the 개인정보 보호법 (PIPA), we act as the personal information controller for any data you voluntarily send us via email. Retention period: until your request is resolved plus 90 days, after which it is permanently deleted. You may exercise access, correction, deletion, and processing-suspension rights at any time by writing to the contact below.
Children
WorldPrice is not directed at children under 14. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has sent us personal data, email us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change this policy we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page and, for breaking changes, post a note on the homepage for at least 14 days.
